Please book by calling us or emailing us with your questions and intended travel dates and times. Alternatively you can book online. Please note that if you want to book a bike to carry a child 10 and under you need to choose the "CHILDREN" option (not available for the Maxi Adventure). When booking online each category books out one bike, so when booking a single bike - choose Adult, when choosing a bike with passenger - choose Children or Observer. This will give you the correct pricing.
We generally have availability with 24 hours notice, but this is not always the case during school holidays and busy times such as the Easter and Christmas Break. If you have limited time available in Kalbarri it is best to book in advance.
We answer emails within 24 hours and less, and will return calls as soon as we are back in telephone range.
Preparing for your safari
To be comfortable it is advisable that you wear clothing appropriate for the weather, and for the activity of quad biking. This generally means clothing that is loose, protects your legs and shoulders, and enclosed shoes. In addition, sunglasses are highly recommended including for children, to protect against dust and insects. [Short shorts, little singlets, and thongs are not the most comfortable for quad biking.] Bring a towel if you want to go for a quick dip in the river.
Most times of the year you will need to wear sunscreen and insect repellant.
We do provide a refreshment stop, but if you have particular dietary needs, please cater for these or advise us in advance.
Please bring your own medical supplies such as an Epipen, or insulin, angina medication in case these are required or the safari takes longer than expected.
Remember to bring your camera with room on your memory card, either fully charged or with extra replacement batteries.
We are prepared for your comfort and safety by:
- providing water (iced during hot weather), carrying extra suncreen and insect repellant, plus tea, coffee, juice and biscuits for the refreshment break;
- carrying first aid equipment and a satellite telephone in case of emergency.
Where to meet us:
All our safaris leave from Murchison House Station. You will need to arrive just before the booked safari time which means leaving Kalbarri 15 minutes prior. Please follow these directions about how to get there from Kalbarri.
Location Number 5618 Ajana-Kalbarri Road, which starts off in Kalbarri as Clotworthy Street on the corner of Grey Street (Kalbarri Beach Resort). Proceed 8.5km along this road heading east and the sign to Murchison House Station is on the left. A big red arrow on this sign indicates 4km. Turn in, and drive a further 3.8km on an unsealed road that is suitable for all vehicles, however proceed with caution. Drive through the gate (it may be shut, but will not be locked) and our shed is located about 100m in, on the right. Please park next to the shed.
If our shed is unattended please park and wait. We will be there, but come from town, or a safari may be out when you arrive. The office at Murchison House Station is not in a position to know what we are doing.
You will also find the location on Google Maps though some customers have found their map a bit confusing. You are well advised not to use your GPS in these remote areas. There is no phone reception after about 3km out of town, so if you are at all confused please call us before you leave just to double check.
Please don't come out to the shed just to see if you can book in or to make an enquiry. Almost always our telephone is attended, and we live in the town of Kalbarri not at Murchison House Station. We are there for booked confirmed safaris only, otherwise the shed is unattended and our business is separate to that of Murchison House Station.
We provide full refunds when we cancel a safari and cannot rebook you, such as in the case of inclement weather.
We provide refunds (less 10% booking fee) if you cancel more than 24 hours before the booked starting time of your safari.
We do not provide refunds in circumstances where you have missed the starting time of the safari (i.e. you arrived late) for whatever reason including the late finish of another tour you have participated in, or if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice of the booked starting time.
